No. Pre-registered Nursing degree simply means that the degree is recognised by the relevant state regulating authority and that graduates of that degree will be eligible for registration in that state. If you are a graduate of the said recognised degrees, your application for registration will be expedited as the State regulating authority doesn't need to review again if your degree has satisfied competency standards for nursing practice.

To become an enrolled nurse, you need to finish a Pre-enrolled Nursing program. It is a diploma level only not a degree.

What are courses that is pre-registered nursing degree in Australia? Thanks for the reply

@ gingerbreadman0214: LOL I was actually thinking of making a separate thread and putting there all the infos lol. Like a FAQ thread for filipino nurses and other nurses who want to go to australia. Then again, it might be redundant already as I have given here so many info so yea.

@ pastasana:
Actually, the entries are either February or July every year. If you've done your IELTS, go ahead and pass your application now to the uni. You might still make it to the February 2009 entry. Application to the Universities actually take only a few weeks to a month to finish. After which, you need to apply for the student's visa. The student visa can take 3-6 months to finish.

And honestly, between the bridging program and the student visa, the student visa will still be done faster than that of the whole process for bridging program. Remember, in the bridging program, you still have to apply for a visit visa or any equivalent for you to go there for your clinical practice. The visit visa will still take months to finish or faster if you're lucky. Add the application and assessment process of the State regulating Authority for the Nursing registration... that's a whole lot of time

Anyway, if you are going for the July entry, I would advise you to apply to the University now. I can give you further info on which Universities have July entry and how to apply.

@ linkRN

There are a lot of pre-registration courses. Which state(s) is (are) your target(s)?

Make it like one of those sticky thread thingies. Compile all your replies and dump 'em in there. But it seems you're enjoying accommodating your fellow pinoy & pinays. You're all heart. By all means, enjoy.

UST didn't win both the ball game & the cheering competition. My alma mater's varsity department has lost its touch. Just wanna let you know. Go, uste!

400 years...Definitely! Like "Paskuhan", there will be free grub for sure. Probably even more. More reason for me to push my application for an alumni ID.
Are you a fellow thomasian?

Only good for a year? Then I'll apply on 2011.

So that's why you're compassionate...Most graduates of the health care related courses are like this. (can I include myself, being a med undergrad? I had my share of actual patient care naman ah...) Praying every hour before and after every class. You'll definitely be a superb nurse.
I'll try to upload a video of this year's paskuhan on youtube.
I'll just pm you when I already can and I'll keep in touch from there.

to aelith:

I have read this from another thread: Some employers are happy to employ overseas nurses on training visas which enable you work as an Assistant in Nursing while you do your CAS educational modules. The wages for AiN are not as high but you can still manage OK for a year until you get your registration.

Can this be possible? Taking up CAS education modules at Queensland at the same time working as assistant in nursing.
The hospital will sponsor your visa, occupational training visa.

Are you seriously planning to enroll? If so, can I tag along? LOL Just so, I know someone else in the Uni

Okay there are a lot of Unis in Queensland too. I'll divide it by Rural and Metropolitan All of the following Universities offer Bachelor of Nursing (graduate Entry). You will be eligible for registration upon completion of the course.

Metropolitan (Brisbane)
Australian Catholic University - Brisbane campus
Queensland University of Technology
University of Queensland
Griffith University (Nathan, Logan, Gold Coast)

Rural

Central Queensland University
James Cook University
University of the Sunshine Coast
University of Southern Queensland

I can provide you more info if you need it. Only a few of the above offers a July entry. Better choose first which area you want to stay and then choose the Universities there. The metropolitan Universities are not far from each other.
