New York license SSN from Cali

Good day. I applied for a California license, passed the NCLEX, and now I am required to submit a social security number to get the license. Since I could not get a social security number, and I learned that New York does not require a social security number, I was wondering:

1. Would it be possible for me to transfer my files from California to New York?
2. Do I have to take the NCLEX again?
3. Can I still apply for a New York license eventhough I have less than a year experience? (CVS application form asks how many years of nursing experience I have)

Thanks.

Moved to the International forum

You are not transferring your file from Ca to NY but have to start a new application. You can not endorse as you have no license to endorse so complete CVS application with CGFNS and also complete NY BON application and arrange with CA to forward your NCLEX results (small fee) You do not need nursing experience to apply to NY BON if you have no experience you put down 0

Check out the NY BRN website and contact them and ask them what schools they accept that training from. Good Luck

There is a list of approved centers that provide either online or classroom courses on the NYBON website

CA will not do anything with your request to forward NCLEX results without being paid.

We do ask that members do not write in text talk as this is good practice in writing in English (if English isn't your first language) and when writing at work unless the abbreviation is accepted by the hospital you are expected to write clearly

Please do not type entirely in capitals as considered shouting on the Internet! Desiring to maintain professionalism, text speak (also known as chatspeak, txtspk, texting language or txt talk) is discouraged. Along with using proper English spelling and punctuation, this shows respect for the owner, other bulletin board members & guests and makes it easier to read your important thoughts.
