New and looking at Canada

hello guys, I'm a new nurse who would like to try my luck venturing to canada, as there are no jobs here in the philippines. I don't have any ideas on how to get started and I just started using this forum per se, can anybody help me on what to do?

much obliged to you all

Moved to a thread on it's own in the International forum

Welcome

There are plenty of threads to read with information regarding Canada. A lot will depend on the province where you want to live and what job availabilities there are.

Couple of threads for starting on
International Educated Nurses- Please read first
FAQ SEC
Filipino to migrate to Canada
links to Provincial Colleges of Registered Nurses

Starting point would be the links I have posted just above. Until you have applied to a province college of nursing and meet requirements there isn't much use in looking at CRNE books. Also there are several threads in the Canadian forum as well as the International one discussing books that are available, there are not many and postage outside Canada can be expensive.

thanks for the quick reply, i have my eligibility with bc and was planning to go and write in oct coz its expiring dec 2011 so i thought i might do that one otha than living it last minute (too much pressure) and i wanted to visit the place as well before i commit. I have had job offers with vch and its lion gate hospital so am torn to either go with them or write the exam and have more freedom of choice. its all about the tyme frame as well

Eligibility comes from the college of registered nurses in the province you want to live in and where you have sent an application form to. They make an assessment based on your application and transcripts. Some have to complete a SEC before being allowed to sit CRNE
