Need some help, some info on SEC assessment

HI everyone! I was invited to go to surrey, BC to take the SEC assessment. I will only take the medical surgical part for 2 days. These are the tests that I would be taking Objective Structured Clinical Exams, (Assessing a client), Clinical judgments (scenarios asked by the assessor), a Triple Jump (Case study) and 2 x 3.5 hour written exams consisting of short answer and multiple choice. Do all foreign nurses usually take some kind of SEC assessment in canada? Or is it just BC nursing that does this? They havent given me the study guide because I dont have my visa yet. Can someone please give me the heads up on these tests. PLZ.........................

Canadian nurses don't know anything about SEC; they aren't required to take it or even know it exists. It is only required of Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs). Have you read the sticky about SEC assessment that can be found on the International Forum home page? FAQ - Substantially Equivalent Competence (SEC) Assessments Your questions are all answered there. There are also about a dozen threads on that forum on this topic. I'm moving this thread there.
