If you read more of the posts in this web site you will find out that there is a regression for nurses' immigration to the U.S. The moderators in this forum have been mentioning a five-year wait before foreign nurses can come to the U.S. to work as nurses. It wasn't too long ago that I've read about hospitals here in the U.S. that were actively recruiting nurses in the Philippines. Rumors flew that some of the U.S. nursing organizations petitioned the U.S. Congress to stop or curb the importation of foreign-grad nurses to preserve the high salaries of U.S.-based nurses and to assure that graduates of U.S. nursing schools will have jobs waiting for them once they graduate. Let's face it, despite of the nursing shortage the U.S. can't absorb all of the Filipino nurses who all want to come to the U.S. In the near future there will be one million unemployed Filipino nurses looking for foreign jobs. Imagine that! Once the door opens again for the importation of foreign-grad nurses to the U.S., and if I were a recruiter I would hire only the best nurses from the best schools of nursing in the Philippines. I hope this message is loud and clear to all those Filipino nurses who are dreaming of high-paying nursing jobs in American hospitals. That's not selfish on my part because I get paid to do a good job and I will do what I get paid for. That's the American way of doing business.

Thread moved to the International Forum as it is not specific to working in the Philippines.

Average wait time is at least four months for most, and some can take up to a year. Best bet is to find out when your school sent in your transcripts. They will not look at your application until it is all complete.

Until you have actually taken and passed the NCLEX exam, an employer cannot even legally offer you a job.

Please have a good look at other threads on this forum concerning the reasons why not to go thru CA for initial licensure in the first place.
