Need help: International student with AS degree from Florida school, can I work in US

I have never heard of that before. Maybe you should consider getting licensed in another state (preferably a compact state) then apply for a FL license. Just a thought, not sure how realistic it is for you. I am licensed in several different states and only have an AS... hasn't stopped me from getting licensed in any other state.

But the problem is that the school id not offering BS degrees at the school anymore. They now only offer the program online and international students are not allowed to take online courses. We were told that this is a new law that was passed sometime in August. Does anyone know if this is true or how it goes?
if you was trained in the US then you are OK to apply for a job the issue is if you did your training abroad then you would not meet US requirements.

Check out the international forum, plenty of info on this

Some states the process is a long and time consuming one, others are walk through states and a piece of cake to get a license. Best of luck.

No different whether US or foreign trained you just apply to state you want to work in and go through process of endorsement. The only difference is you must follow requirements for foreign trained even when endorsing

my friend is from Kenya and he has an AS and was able to get a license in TN. TN also is one of the comptact states. So that might be a possibility for you if you are willing to relocate to the south.

Please go to the International Forum, there is much there that you need to be aware of. You are being given completely wrong information. And sorry, there is no new law that came out last August about this.

Since this question is off topic from the original post here, please just read the Primer on the International Forum and post your questions about International nurses there. There is a different set of requirements for you as far as working in the US and already explained there.

A green card can be issued to you with the two year degree, provided that you trained in the US. But the issue is that currently there are no visas available. If you do not have the F-1 and qualify for the OPT, then you will not be able to work when you finish your degree at this time. The issue is the retrogression and nothing more.
