Where is your friend located now? How is his English? I have worked with helping nurses from your country. One just recently passed NCLEX and already has accepted a job in Chicago. It definitely can be done.

Has he applied for licensure in NY yet? I suggest that he get started with that. The process will take several months, long enough for him to prepare for the exam.

Hi suzanne. he is now in Uzbekistan. His English is O.k I can say, but you see, he does not even have sources to prepare for the exam. He wants to prepare here in NY and thus I am searching school for him. It should be official school,to help him get his visa, as it's getting impossible to get any now. I came with the help of I-20, he wants to come by showing that he is accepted to some school and try to get his visa. Can u please help me to find a school that prepares nurses to take NCLEX? Thank you very much for attention u make to every post.

There is not a program like that which will qualify him for a student visa. The program is not long enough. And the person that I was speaking about was able to get a tourist visa without issue.

And that would probably not be the way to get a visa in your country. You are showing proof that he will not return once he gets his US license, etc.

Even if he has to do the training at home, once he passes his English exams, as well as NCLEX, then you would be issued a green card and it would not be a problem for him to come to the US.

The way that you are thinking of doing it won't help him, only will make matters worse.

I see now why nobody comes and prepares here as it's not really possible. But how about Kaplan courses? what do u think about them suzanne? I got your point that it would almost be impossible in embassy as he is letting them know he is going to stay here. but, he just wanna try. thank you

I have not been overly impressed with some of the programs that I see out there. The instructors do not have enough experience. And why spend $400 or even $600 for a program, when you can do better with a book and some articles for about $40. You do the math. Especially if the nurse already speaks English.
