Nclex for indian nurses

hi everyone,
i m an indian registered nurse, want to write nclex-rn. but want to go to utah and write examination,
can any one tell me how much time it takes to get credential evaluation for indian nurse and ATT. and should i start process before going to USA OR after reaching there. actually i m planning to come there on study visa so tat i ll be having time to clear exam in two years. so even i ll come there on atudy visa , retrogation process will affect me ?
pls reply me soon if any one is having information. thanks in advance.

You need to apply to the state nursing board (links can be found at the bottom of the page) and meet their requirements for licensure to be a RN. You are not applying for NCLEX that is just a part of the process. On average you are looking at 4-6 months to get eligibility but a lot will depend on paperwork and how timely it is sent. Also unless you have a tourist visa you may find it hard to get one with the exam now being sat outside the US.

Would also suggest you read up on retrogression as you will be affected (unless you are able to get a work visa)
