NCLEX Exam in Chicago

Hi,
I am a Nurse. My husband is settled in Chicago for the last 12 years. He will avail his citizenship in the next 10 - 12 months.

I would like to go to Chicago and take my NCLEX there.

Will I be eligible to work as an RN in Chicago with an NCLEX Certification or do I need to take CGFNS prior to NCLEX.

Kindly advice. Please send reply.

Thanks & Regards,
Dianajannifer

I moved your post to the International Forum where you will get better responses. There is a great deal of information on US licensure here.

Once your husband has obtained citizenship he will be able to petition you which will make the process a bit quicker but not sure on current guidelines for India but read of couples in the UK waiting over 7 months to be processed and living together in the US, until you get permission you will not be able to stay in the US. Just wondering why you are not already in the US with your husband?

Getting back to the question. You are applying for licensure to be a RN in the US of which NCLEX is part of that process. Everything you need to do to meet requirements are here Illinois BON and no reason why you don't start this process whilst waiting for your husband to get his citizenship

Would also suggest a good read as many threads on Illinois and processing times but looking at a few months
