Hi Gumdrop!

It usually takes 4-6 months before you can get your eligibility from CA BON. That is, 4-6 months from the time you get your confirmation. You can take the exams in California provided you have a visa. Tourist visa will do.

Hi!just a question...does it mean that if you already received your confirmation you can take the test in any of their testing centers?i'm thinking if this would be okay so i could choose which testing center can accommodate me to take the test fast.
thanks.

I don't see the wisdom of taking it in California (unless you already have a US tourist visa). You will just risk getting denied by the embassy.
Once you have the authorization to test, you can take it in places near the Philippines like Hong Kong or Saipan.

You can test in any center in the world that offers the exam, so if you plan a trip to Europe first, you can stop by in London, or Toronto, if in Canada.

Where you actually take the exam makes no difference to the state where you take it. You can take it in Hawaii while on vacation.

This thread was moved to the International Forum, as it has no bearing on working in the Philippines.

Please pay attentio to the new banner that is at the top of the Philipppine Forum, if it has to do with working in the Us, it goes to the International Forum.

There is no risk in taking it in the US, but it is getting harder to get a tourist visa in the first place from the US Embassy in Manila. The other issue is what if the exam is not passed? You also have to be in the US for about five months without any income coming in before you can legally work, if you go the AOS route.
