Step #1. You need to apply to California for licensure. I recommend any other state, in case you decide to work somewhere else.
Step #2. You can apply to Pearson-Vue for the NCLEX exam, but do not do it until you have received the ATT letter from which ever state that you have applied to. On average, California will take you about six months. If you apply to Pearson-Vue, you only have 90 days to get the exam taken, if not, you lose your funds that you have paid. You need two sets of fingerprint cards, you can get that done at your local police dept and send them in.

Hong Kong has a wide variety of hotels, from any price range. Depends on what else that you wish to see while you are there. There are two areas, the main land area is called Kowloon, then their in the island called Hong Kong. You can go to either side quite easily by ferry, and for very cheap.
If you go to AsiaHotels.com they have quite a few listings there for you. They are quite reputable and I have used them many times myself and their prices are quite good.

    Hope that this helps.......................

i have to print the forms from their site (pdf one)?..finger print cards-they are requested to them? and payments are done thru money order..? i think its easier to apply your cgfns than the nclex..

NCLEX is actually quite easy, you can do that on-line with Pearson-Vue. It is the licensure for the individual state that will give you all of the difficulties. If you haven't already applied to CA for initial licensure, I highly recommend that you do not. If you decide to change states before you begin work, you will be stuck, they will not sign you over for endorsement since you will not have a license number for them to process until you actually have a SSN#.

Fingerprint cards can be mailed to you, and you can print the applications for almost any state from your computer.

Where are you going to be working?

pearson-vue is not an application process like your license application. all you do is fill in the form and send them your money and schedule a date. just like you were purchasing something on the internet. simple as that. definitely do not do anyhting with pearson-vue until you have the actual att letter in hand.

the only reason that i suggest that you do not get initial licensure in ca is that if for some reason, lets say your relatives move to arizona or new mexico, or you eventually get a much better offer from there, or for whatever reason, you will not be able to endorse over to them until after you receive your hard copy license, and you do not get that until just before you are set to work. most recruiters will tell you the same thing. do not use california for initial licensure. but it is your choice.........i can only make a suggestion.

the only thing that you want tot do now is apply to a bon and send in your documents for the visa screen certificate. it can take them months to get everything verified for you.

You can get your California Board of Nursing application online at www.rn.ca.gov. Fingerprint cards can be obtained at the US embassy in Manila or your local consulate and you can have your fingerprints taken at your local NBI office. It will take about 4-6 months before your ATT arrives. Then you can schedule your exam with Pearson-VUE. The problem with California licensure is that once you pass your NCLEX, you have only one year to get your license and you NEED a Social security number to get your license. If you cannot satisfy the requirement for licensure within that year, your application will be considered abandoned and your files destroyed. With the new retrogression policy of the US State department, it will take years before you can obtain work authorization (needed for social security number) so it would be next to impossible to get your licensure requirements within one year.

California is actually now giving you three years to get your Social Security Number to them. This changed fairly recently. But again, I highly recommend that you go for initial licensure in another state.

Sure, you can apply to any state for a license, then just endorse to CA which is what all of us recommend that you do.

If you did not already have your Visa Screen Certificate I would recommend NY to you. CGFNS dies all of the work for you in obtaining your records for you due to the restrictions in NY. Arizona, New Mexico, and Florida just require a credentials evaluation form CGFNS. They at least will issue you your license without a SSN#................much prefer it that way.

Any state can be easily endorsed to California. That is the easy part.....
