Things to be considered, will NZ allow you to petition your grandparents, if health insurance is required how much is it going to cost. Lola would probably benefit from getting citizenship to the US before deciding to leave the US in case it doesn't work out.

Before you do a thing, you need to find out what the requirements would be for your grandparents to go to NZ. It is not going to be an automatic thing, especially since you will be there as a landed immigrant and not as a passport holder from there. Things are very different in terms of immigration to there. Never assume that it is going to be an instant thing. It is going to be far from that.

It is usually going to be years before you could petition for them, same as when they came to the US in most cases. As a landed immigrant, it would be similar to if you were on the green card here and had tried to petition them for the US; just not going to happen in any realistic time.

Having a green card means nothing to NZ; it is only for the US. And as Anna mentioned, if they leave the US, and decide that they want to return here later on, they may not be able to do so; it will depend on how long that they are out of the country, etc.
