Is there anybody here has recently moved to Arizona aside from Madwife_2002?... I just want to think positively of getting visas this month and planning to travel by end of December or January 2007. I just want to know the cheaper airlines fare from Manchester to Tucson AZ as well as highly recommendable air cargo for some stuffs to be brought there. How many kgs. or lbs. are allowed for each passenger? Thanks a lot! :uhoh3:

There are lots coming to AZ but myself and Cariad are the only ones here at the moment. You need to fly to Phoenix from Heathrow the cost about 330 pounds per person then drive to Tucson which is about 2 hours-that is probably the simplest way.

Anyway why dont you want to hear from me???:uhoh3: What have I done to upset you?

Hahaha, nothing serious, I thought you've been there for more than 3 years. I just want to hear from those recently travelled to AZ regarding the current rate of ticket and cargo. I asked you about buying health insurance but I got no reply. As soon as we get visas, I'll ask you more. Thanks! :D

i have pmd you the name of someone who lives there she may be able to help you, she came with ogp and her relocation has been very successful, but she doesnt come on here too much so it may take a while for her to reply.

If you go to http://www.britishairways.com there are details about flights and baggage restrictions on there, from what i can tell flights are about £350 and baggage is two pieces each but this appears to change alot.

once again million thanks for your fast reply. indeed another transition is very tough for us to start from scratch. i'll tell you all my blessings 2 weeks from now, once we get visas...well, what i've been saying is "the joyful heart is always really a good medicine"

If you are coming with an agency then they will sort out the tickets for the plane flight for you and you just pay for your dependents.

If you are coming alone then I know the flights are around 345 pounds at the moment, as I have friends who are researching on line via BA at the moment. 2 suitcases each is the norm for BA-though when we flew last december we brought 14 suitcases and they charged us no excess-I dont know why because we we prepared to pay.

I have a friend living in Tucson who relocated from Phoenix in August and she loves it there better than central Phoenix. We passed through a few weeks ago and I felt it was cooler and less traffic.

I've been in Tucson for 2 1/2 years now, we flew to Tucson from London via Dallas but honestly if I were doing it again I'd fly directly into Phoenix from London, we priced flights recently that way for some friends and it ranged from 350-400 poundes until dec 15th.

The luggage allowance is 2 suitcases 50lbs each so thats not bad i wouldn't recommend the shipping company we used but there used to be lots of talk about different companies on BE website.

Please feel free to PM' me if you need help coming to tucson of info about being here

Thank you very much too geordiegirl2... Your advice is highly appreciated. If I would be granted visa, Im gonna work in TMC. Is it gov't or private hospital? How is the house rent in Tucson? Thanks a lot!

TMC is one of the larger hospitals in Tucson, there are very few government hospitals they are all independantly owned.

The house we rented when we first got here was $1195 per month, 3 bed/ 2 bath 1400 square feet, there were houses a lot cheaper in other areas but we liked this one as it meant our kids were in a good catchment area for school and honestly we made the right choice, we bought in this neighbourhood and its a nice area, and our kids are doing well at school.
