Mcgill or Athabasca?

I am looking into pursuing my master's degree and am looking for information from people that have received their master's from either school.

I have thought of pros and cons of both school but have not heard any information directly from students that have completed or are in the middle of completing their degree. Thanks to anyone with info.

Depends on what type of program are you looking for? I have a friend who finished her Masters through Athabasca U and said it was a great experience as she was able to work full-time while doing it. I'm in the process of applying to Athabasca for the Masters as well and the convenience is what is driving me to go there. I completed my BSN through UVic via online and it was a great experience so I imagine that Athabasca would be the same. Is McGill offering an online program or do you live in Quebec and plan to attend classes there?

Athabasca seems much more convienient, I mean I wouldn't even have to leave my place but it is also a lot more expensive. Since I live in Montreal Mcgill would be less expensive, but I would have to go to scheduled classes.

Is there anyone out there who went to Mcgill??? Please let me know what the program is like!

I went to McGill, but not in nursing. And currently I'm taking a class through Athabasca. If I were you, I'd go to McGill. Aside from the fact that I loved McGill, it's much easier to go to scheduled classes than it is self-motivate yourself to study on your own, regardless of how interested you are in the material. Personally I absorb things better when in a lecture. Reading the text from my Athabasca course, my mind tends to wander.

In addition to this, at McGill you'll be able to go to your professors whenever you want, with Athabasca, it's all done via the phone or email, it's much easier to speak with someone about a class/course material when you're face to face.

Also, McGill has a stellar reputation. Good luck wherever you decide to go!
