I went for an interview but the lady told me that my work experience has nothing to do with hospital setting and it won't even fit their criteria. I need some advice how to make a transition STAT.....anyone

- Nov 15, '11 by Fiona59Well, that's bizarre. I went from LTC/subacute to active treatment. The manager that hired me told me that nurses that came from LTC usually had mastered their time managment skills, knew how to work hard, and were on the ball.joanna73 and loriangel14 like this.
- Nov 16, '11 by joanna73It depends on the hiring manager, but also how effectively you can sell yourself. I've known many people to leave LTC for other areas. The patient population in LTC is the same as Acute Care and Med Surg these days. Aside from that, LTC requires excellent time management and prioritization skills. Keep looking, and think about actual scenarios that you can discuss in an interview.Fiona59 likes this.
