live scan and fingerscan

by philrn

I'm a fresh graduate and I'm planning to apply for NCLEX in California. I already have the application form with me but I don't know how to go about the live scan and the finger scan. Do I have to go to the US Embassy here in Manila to do it? Thanks.

Default live scan..finger print
You will not be able to utilize the livescan fingerprint service from Manila, so u have to request the board by writing(e-mail)to them and asking them to send the finger print hard card.I am not sure if they will accept the fingerprint taken outside the united states, just make sure by calling california board of nursing.Have a nice time.

Kanya's right. I applied for CA last year too. I e-mailed the CA BON for a fingerprint hard card and recieved it after a week. Then I went to a police department in Taiwan and got my fingerprints done and sent it back to CA BON along with my applications. It worked out fine! They accepted it and soon I was proved eligible to sit for NCLEX. So what you want to do now is probably e-mail CA BON and get a fingerprint hard card. If you have any doubt on where to get your fingerprints done, ask around or just call the BON.
Good luck to you!

You just need the hard card from California and the fingerprinting can be done at any police dept in your area..........you need to get two sets...

But if you are going for initial licensure, do not do California........you will not get issued a hard license until after you have a SSN#, so if you decide at the last minute that you wish to endorse to another state, you are stuck....Go to NY, and then endorse to CA. You will be much further ahead...

Thanks for the info. I already have both the fingerscan and the live scan.

The livescan only works in California..........get two sets of fingerprints, one set goes to the Dept of Justice and one goes to the FBI. Will just save you some time........
