License verification in PRC

I'm a licensed nurse in the UK and currently working in the UK. My license in the philippines has expired 3 years ago and I haven't renewed.

My questions are?

Do i have to renew it before they will verify my expired license?

what are the requirements in renewing the license?

Does CGFNS require a current license in order to have

a VS certificate?( I have an active UK license) I have read the CGFNS handbook and there is no mention of whether your licenses should all be active.

I hope you can help me

good day.. i am a cg passer of november 2008 soon to take ielts in march.. i was able to pass all the requirements needed by the cgfns including the request of validation of registration form. however, i have received a message from cgfns stated:

please note that to date, cgfns has only received a portion of the documents needed to review your application for the cgfns certification program. we are unable to review your application documents to determine your eligibility for an upcoming cgfns qualifying exam until we receive the information listed below. please be advised that receipt of the documents listed below does not mean that you will be scheduled for a cgfns qualifying exam; it means only that an eligibility review will occur.

the documents still outstanding are as follows:

license validation form for philippines

in order to begin a review of your file for a particular cgfns qualifying exam date, we need to receive the above-listed completion materials by the published application deadline date of that exam.

should i apply for another license validation at prc? however, i'm getting confused because i just got a message from vt where i applied for the licensure exam they were asking for my credentials evaluation of education. is this the reason why cgfns is asking for my license validation again? what form should i give the prc to fill out? lastly, do i really have to pay cgfns for $328 to get my credentials evaluation of education as requested by vt?

please help...:scrying: thank you very much

If you alredy were granted permission to sit for the CGFNS exam, then this means that they had received the documentation from the PRC as a local license is one specific requirement before you even were granted approval to test. However, you have not been issued a certificate since you have not written the English exams, they require at least the basic exam to release the Certificate that you passed the exam.

And as mentioned in your other post on the same topic, the exam requirements are not the same as the credentials eval and cannot be used as the same. You are going to have to pay the fee to CGFNS for the credentials eval.

But to top it all off, not sure why you wrote the CGFNS exam in the first place since none of the states that you mentioned in your other thread require this exam.

Yah..From what I've learned from your response..Taking CGFNS last year makes me regret it.. Its a waste of money. Realizing that I listened to people who were residing at CGFNS State (Fl). However, I realized that it gave me a little opportunity because I just got a sponsorship from Arizona.. That's the main reason why I'm in a rush regarding my NCLEX application at VT. It has been pending since January last year. If I only knew, I should have get CES instead.. Also, after reading those infos I'm having second thoughts of pursuing the NCLEX application since it's retrogression. I can still apply for a Visa Screen thru my IELTS and CGFNS Certification. Even if I have sponsorship in Arizona it cannot give me assurance that I can have my Visa and live Philippines soon. Right? Maybe I can keep my application at VT open and take the licensure exams later this year..

Thank you very much suzanne.. You're really a big help!!!:p

If you have a petition in Az not sure why you want to go to VT. Getting a petitioner means once you get I140 approved then you join the queue and looking at several years. I am surprised if you have found a petitioner for Az as I see in the Az forums many complaining of job freezes but hey if you have good luck to you

I just hope this sponsorship is not a scam. Although, I'm not going to shell out anything except for the shipping fee. Its just that waiting for nothing is not really good and being die hard to take NCLEX all this time not knowing the fact that Az has a state wide hiring freeze.. Aaawww, all the information I had just today discouraged me to go out of the country.. By the way, regarding the VT licensure, I had my application for licensure in Jan 2008 for I knew that it has the fastest NCLEX processing not until they changed their policies. And I was affected by that. They asked for CES then I got the wrong advice of taking CGFNS.. And now here I am pushing through my application.. Though I'm having second thoughts now..

thank you very much for all the information.. It's been a great help!:nmbrn:

You were still given incorrect information, CGFNS exam was not required for Florida either last year either.

And if the request was given to you from VT, that means that there are issues with what they want to see on your transcripts; it actually is not a new requirement that they came up. But issues with something that you submitted. They only ask for the CES if they are having problems with your evaluation.

Remember that each state does their own evaluation when applies to them for licensure.

Not sure what type of sponsorship that you have received for AZ, but be aware that if it is for the H1-B visa, it actually requires that you have taken and passed the NCLEX exam; the CGFNS exam will not meet the requirements for this. The US is under a major recession/depression; likes of that have not been seen probably since you were born. A facility is going to need to prove that they are unable to hire an American for the job, and for sponsorship at this time, meaning the H1-B visa, there are strict requirements and the most important is having an actual license for that state.

There is no way that you are going to be able to get that done in a hurry.

And as Anna mentioned above, many of the facilities in AZ are having hiring freezes or lay-offs in place. When this occurs, there is absolutely no way that they can hire, least of all bring over a foreign nurse.
