International shipping for nurses

Updated Aug 15, 2009 at 05:04 PM by janfrn

Hi there
Has anyone used a international shipping agency to ship their possessions overseas ? The prices tend to vary most significantly. I am told that there are special rates for nurses with certain shipping companies, has anyone heard of this ?
If anyone can recommend a shipping company I would appreciate it.

I am not quite sure as to whether it would be considered advertising if you were to post in this thread however either way works for me.

Thanks

I've moved internationally several times and never heard of a discount for nurses.

Thanks, it appears that someone misinformed me. Not to worry. Did you use the same shipping company ? I am finding that the rates are varying most significantly, I cant seem to find a good deal.

I doubt you will get a discount. Where are you travelling to and from ?

Prices will vary from country to country

Prices do vary immensely even for the same trip between companies. Best way is to get them to come and do a quote when they look at your stuff. You should find out about possible fees at the other end - some people get caught out with "customs" fees which when they demand a receipt, seem to disappear. Just a scam by the shipping company. There is a website which talks about shipping companies - look for one that is registered with whatever the international shippers association is called.
