International Nurse (French)

Hi there,

My name is Virginie, i come from France. I was nurse over there for 4years. I arrived in California next year.

The first time, i sent my folder to the Board of nursing in California. They asked me to go in a Nursing school to do again one unit (obstetric courses) because apparently my level was not enough. Thing very strange because i have some friends in SF, she sent the same folder and she didnt have to do this unit. I am kind of upset because i lost my time. But i didn't have choice.

I have just some questions. I called some laywer to help me but i am still with some questions.
I know after my unit, i have to pass my Nclex, my Toefl for having my Visa screen. But after that, what i have to do, i am a foreigner nurse with a student visa. I can t work without a work visa. So, i have to go again see a lawyer and change my papers, but they told me i have to wait one year because the government doesn't deliver work visas until next April. Is it true?

They also told me, i can be sponsorize by an Hospital. But there is someone who know which hospital can do that in California or somewhere esle?

I am kind of lost. I can't wait one more year without working in my job.

If someone can help me, it will be very great.
