Welcome to the site

I have moved this to the International forum as things differ slightly for foreign trained nurses. With you working I presume you have a valid work visa. As a foreign trained nurse you will have to go through CVS with CGFNS and then send your application to NY BON (board of nursing)

You are going to need to get licensed here first before you can have any job in a hospital as an RN.

NY requires that you complete the CVS, done thru CGFNS, before they will look at your application. This can take anywhere from 6 to 8 months to get done. Once NY has received this, then they will determine if they will accept your training for licensure. If you meet the requirements, they will then permit you to sit for the NCLEX exam.

Upon passing that exam, you will then be able to apply for a job as an RN.

Please have a look at the Primer, even though you already hold a green card, it will explain the usual procedures that one must go thru to be able to work here as an RN.

Best of luck to you.
