Inquiry for application in California

Good day to all nurses all over the world.

My name is Clinitte Ebuna from the Philippines. I want to apply for NCLEX exam in California but they are asking for Social Security Number for without it, they are not going to process my application as stated in the guide for application. Unfortunately, I have SSS number but only here in the Philippines. I don't have a US SSS number. How do I proceed with my application.

I really hope someone out there can enlighten me on how to go about securing an SSS number in the US. Thank you and more power to those who are reading this message.

Moved to the International forum

I have retitled your thread as you are not applying for NCLEX but to be a licensed nurse in the US. NCLEX is just a part of that application

We do not recommend California for initial license as they will not issue a license without a SSN and you CAN NOT apply for a US SSN until in the US with a valid work visa. Much has already been written about California and SSN I suggest a search and a good read on this forum. Would also suggest a good read up on retrogression because you will at some stage be affected by it and currently looking at several years wait before you get a visa.

Try this for a starting point. California for initial license Closing thread as we already have many threads discussing California
