This is 100% illegal to do and in violation of US copyright law.

Maybe you're talking about the xerox copies? Mine is a reprint and there is a copyright sign inside. It says: Reprinted edition copyright 2006 Elsevier (Singapore) Pte Ltd. All rights reserved. No part of this publication may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means....blah...

Then there is an address:
Elsevier (Singapore) Pte Ltd
3 Killiney Road #08-01
Winsland House 1
Singapore 239519

All rights reserved. Reprinted in the Philippines by ELSEVIER (SINGAPORE) PTE LTD under special agreement with ELSEVIER, INC. This edition is the only authorized complete and unabridged reproduction of the latest American Edition, reprinted and priced for sale in the Philippines only, unless otherwise authorized by the Publisher.

Reprinted ISBN 981-2596-00
Original ISBN 1-4160-0095-X

So I'm not sure if this is what fellow Filipinos here are talking about because I bought it also at C&E. And it does come with a CD.

Yours is a legal publication. And it comes with the CD, only those that are legal have the CD included in the package. All of the others that are sold without it are bootleg copies, and are not permitted to be brought into the US.

There are many that are being sold there where the publisher is not being compensated and that means that they are not a legal issue. Yours is an actual approved book.

That still does not mean that the actual one that you have was not copied, but at least it looks more above board than some of the others that I have seen. Guess, first question would be: How much did you pay for it? All over the world, they are the same price, plus the shipping charges, if there are any. And that is $42.95 US. If you paid only about $10 US for it, then it is not a real version.

No legitimate edition is going to be cheap. No matter where you purchase it, and it would be the same as the prices in Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore. Not any cheaper if it is a true edition.

Questioning the edition that you have, contact Elselvier in Singapore and they will give you an answer. You do not have to give them your name, so do not worry.

It's $17. But don't they print cheaper ones for poor countries like ours? Yes, contacting Elsevier Singapore is a good idea.

No they do not have cheaper copies for any other country, that is what I am telling you. Even Thailand where the salaries are similar for nurses, the only rate is the same as for the US with the postal charges added on. That is why they are illegally printing copies in PI. Most are not legal, and if they do not have the same rate as the other countries, they are illegal copies.

I ATTENDED THE KAPLAN REVIEW CLASS BEFORE TAKING THE NCLEX SIX YEARS AGO. AND TRUST ME THAT REVIEW CLASS OVER PREPARED ME FOR THE NCLEX. I PASSED WITH 75 QUESTIONS IN 98 MINUTES. ALL MY SCH MATES THAT TOOK THEIR REVIEW CLASS THOUGHT NCLEX WAS A PIECE OF CAKE. AN LPN AT MY JOB WHO COULD NOT PASS THE BOARDS AFTER 6 ATTEMPS FINALLY DID WITH KAPLAN REVIEW. TRY THEM, THEY ARE SO GOOD.
GOOD LUCK

Republished books are not permitted. It is not an approved issue in the first place. There is no such thing as a republished book in the eyes of US Copyright laws. If the book is taken out of your country, it can be confiscated.

Remember that PI makes many of their own rules not are not accepted anywhere else. And don't you think that it is funny that no other country does this? Even neighboring countries in SE Asia?

I find it quite odd.
