has anyone heard or used the services of Global scholarship Alliance. i have signed their contract and wld like to know if i have done myself any good or bad. any advice wld be appreciated

well i've signed up with GSAand they're offering us F! visa. according to what i've researched so far. thosa who are F1 visa holders can immediately apply for immigrant visas after they have returned to their country of origin unlike those who hold J1 visa coz they're really required to render social service to theie country of origin for 2 years. the pay that the hospital (employer) is offering us is quite ok actually considering that it wud just be our starting pay. hope, everything wud go according to plan so that we can achieve our American Dream despite the retrogression that has been tormenting thousands of filipino nurses and their families.

Sorry but that is not how things are going to work for you. And with the F-1 visa, you cannot begin to work immediately. And be aware that you are going to be affected by the retrogression no matter what anyone tells you.

You also cannot work more than 20 hours per week and you do not even get papers that permit you to work as soon as you arrive here, that is not what the F-1 visa is for. Not sure what promises are being made to you, but I would seriously check everything out very thoroughly before signing.

GSA or Global Scholarship Alliance sends Filipino nurses to the US to study MSN. They are on J-1 visa. They are to finish the 4 yr Masteral Course but will have to come back to the Philippines to serve the country for 2 yrs before they could go back again to the US to work. They are working there in an affiliated hospital for a minimum period just to support thmeselves while schooling. They are the ones paying their own apartments. GSA will only shoulder your tuition and books. Greencard is not offered to these scholars. My friends are now in the US preparing to come home as they finished their MSN already. ANd they are under GSA.

GSA also, shoulders NCLEX and the visa fees, but once you failed you will take the exams again and will have to pay the whole expenses on your own. If in case you failed again, and decide not to push through with the scholarship you will pay them the amount they have spent for you. GSA will not make you take the NCLEX and make you go through the whole process without you signing the contract.

Hi janina08RN, i'd like to ask how are your friends doing? did they went to back to US to work? How's the program all about?

GSA sent an email to me regarding their program and im kinda skeptical about it so im checking things out. Your response will be appreciated, thanks!:wink2:

Hello there!

Is there any update about GSA? I was actually accepted into the program way back in 2007 but didn't push through since I was unsure then. However, two years later, I find myself applying jobs online for USA but with no luck. Today, finally, one agency replied and they're tied up with GSA. Does anybody know anyone who's still in the program?

How are they going to bring you to the US and work. Retrogression affects everyone regardless whether doing it yourself or with an agency?
