When did you do the AOS route? You will not get a GC until visas are available which may be longer than October as we don't know yet what is going to happen then

i got my PD @ the end of sept 2006. i got my EAD-- OCT 12.

this is the latest email i got from USCIS--

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed.
On February 28, 2007, we received your response to our request for evidence. We will notify you by mail when we make a decision or if we need something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. You should expect to receive a written decision or written update within 60 days of the date we received your response unless fingerprint processing or an interview are standard parts of case processing and have not yet been completed, in which case you can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case is at our TEXAS SERVICE CENTER location. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register

so what do you think this means?

you are lucky as you have EAD and can keep renewing it until you get a visa allocated

Yes, It is good for 1 year and renewable as long as the Adj. of Status is still pending. The EAD is only available for those who have filed for AOS.

You can't file AOS as you are in the Phillipines, plus this is not a recommended route to file with immigration

no one knows what will happen in Oct, you do have a chance to getting a visa but you can just renew your EAD whilst you are waiting
