There are already several threads listing specifics of the required score needed to pass the English exam, please look for it.

The Visa Screen Certificate is needed for immigration, and has nothing to do with the licensure requirements. CA actually does not have a language requirement if you are not going for the IP, interim permit. And you also need to take and pass the CGFNS exam to be able to get that, so most do not go that route.

Sorry, but it seems that the scores you got cant be considered for a visa screen eventhough you got an over all band of 6.5 or greater but if your speaking part is not 7.0. Your result wont qualify for your visascreen requirement.

IELTS score requirement for US is a 7.0 for Speaking and a total band score of 6.5. Even if you got a total band score of 7.0 but if your Speaking scored a 6.5, this is not acceptable for Visa Screen purposes.

Hi, my friend got 6.5 over all band score. Speaking is 7. Writing and reading 6. You think her scores are okay for visa screening?

If you check the VSC handbook on the CGFNS website it lists what scores are required but I think she will need 6.5 not 6

i think you have to have at least 6.5 to listening, reading, writing and 7.0 for the speaking.

I've read some threads on here too yesterday, they said that US requires an over all band score of 6.5 and 7 for speaking, and with writting reading and listening - score wont matter as long as its not less than 6. My friend got 7 for speaking and listening, and 6 for wrting and reading.

I also checked with the website you've posted (silver dragon), its says for registered nurses IELTS, INC (6.5 academic), 7.0 (spoken band). Although it didnt mention about the writing, reading and listening part.

http://www.cgfns.org/files/pdf/apps/...20Handbook.pdf - its on page 13

as long as you get 7 for speaking and an overall bandscore of 6.5, it doesn't matter what you get for the other parts.
