Check out this website. http://www.examenglish.com/ The free sample questions are the same format of IELTS exam. So you dont really need to go to a review center. And besides, the IELTS British Council offers free use for thier Library and computers. You can find plenty of review materials there. God Bless!

the most important if your taking for the ielts is constant usage of english language anytime and anywhere as these polish your skills. tere are lots of review materials that can be bought outside the prc which is much cheaper and utilize the library in british council if you register with them. :loveya:

can anybody suggest a review material or books for ielts?? thank you!!

When I took IELTS a couple of years ago, I used the "SCOTT'S ENGLISH SUCCESS" website. I never used book or any "paper" review materials. It has really worked for me. I passed (first take)! Thanks to Scott. Check it out and it may work for you as well.

Totally agree about using the language constantly to improve English skills, but also, try to watch a lot of shows in English -- it's great practice and fun, and also, read novels, newspapers, whatever floats your boat. I've written for a Korean company that produces books in Korea for TOEFL, TOEIC and IELTS and also taught Koreans and Japanese online that are planning to take the tests; I always, always advice them to constantly practice. I mean, you would always ace whatever comes naturally to you, right? :)

Hope this helps, goodluck!

Is it really necessary to use a review book for IELTS? I have a friend who doesn't speak English very well but he got a 7.5 average.

I'm sure most of us can say this, that it's not just about the knowledge that makes you ace or fail a test, a huge part of it is self-confidence at that particular time you're taking the test too. So, if you think having a book that could guide you through what to expect about the test, etc would reassure you and make you feel confident, I don't think it's a waste, go get one ;)

Although, there's so many stuff on the internet that could help you too, and you can get them for free.

You're right mommyrina, I guess it's all about doing what works best for you :)
