Re: IELTS in lieu of TOEFL as Washington State NCLEX requirements "If they ask for TOEFL then that may be all that they will accept but better to ask them first rather than the Internet"
Hi Silverdragon! Work keep me out of here for awhile and thanks for the reply.
I trust and found this site very helpful in giving me insights on things i am concerned in relation to my nursing career hence my question was raised here. My intention was to draw different answer to my question based on our fellow nurse's (who applied on WA State Licensure) varied experiences and to have a first hand idea from them and consequently come up with a sound backup information before i call the WA State BON. I understand i should contact them directly but i just wanted to gather clues from here first before calling them so that if IN CASE IELTS work to some of us here and they said TOEFL ONLY, i could verify the circumstance from them right on my first call.
Aside from really wanting to take IELTS over TOEFL, this post inspires me to raise my question here :
" I really really wanted to take IELTS because I know its easier to pass than TOEFL. But if you've been reading my previous posts, I was quite confused then whether to take IELTS or TOEFL. I emailed NJ BON sometime around September last year, inquired with what English Exam to take, they told me that TOEFL is the only accepted English Exam. So I decided to follow what they said. However, recently, I learned from one of the members here who also went through the same problem as mine.. NJ BON replied to her email and told her that s/he can take IELTS instead of TOEFL. Sigh. It's really really confusing. I'll try to email NJ BON again after the results of my rescore. If i still don't qualify, I might go for IELTS once the NJ BON gives me the Go signal. What do you guys think?"

My personal experience is from a story of a close friend of mine who submitted her application to seat for California Licensure and was not granted for a reason that allegedly her nursing curriculum is different from theirs. Meanwhile, my close friend's classmate applied for Ca Licensure and she was given ATT.Dsn'tmake sense to me. Maybe just some luck i guess?

This made me think togather info here first so i will have the fighting spirit and the guts to make a change somehow in letting the respective office know what's going on, if in case it would be similar case to the above mentioned story. This is where my "nurse-client advocate" attitude comes in i guess... which i can't help
Seriously, anyone from here can share thier Washington State Licensure application experience? Would be very very very MUCH appreciated.
Again, thank you Silverdragon for the reply I appreciate it.
