I have an interview!

I have an interview via telephone next week for a position in ER in a fairly large teaching hospital in New England. I am so excited!!!

As a NZ RN who has worked in both New Zealand and Australia, I really don't have any idea how the US interviews candidates.

Any advice or ideas on how to present myself (apart from the professional that I am)? Are there fairly standard questions that I may be asked or is it dependent on the state and clinical area?

I would be most appreciative of any feedback from overseas RNs or US RNs.

Thanks in advance.

Glad to hear that you have the interview.

They will ask you on what your strengths are and what you think that your weaknesses are. How you get along with others, etc.

They will ask what areas that you have more experience in as far as patient population in the ER, and if a trauma facility; your skills in that type of facility.

They may also ask what you are legally permitted to do where you have worked before, some things are sure to be different, especially depending on the locale of where you have worked before.

Best of luck on your interview and keep us posted.

Congratulations on Interview and good luck
