Welcome to allnurses.com. I moved your thread to our International Nursing forum where it is more appropriate.

The NCLEX-RN exam is offered from M-F and in some test centers even in weekends. This is not like our local boards where it is offered only twice a year.
There is no fix schedule and the nurse will have to make an appointment but this is the latter stages already so I would not recommend you bother w/ this for now.

First step is to apply for Licensure to a specific US State and submit all requirements, after w/c they will make you 'eligible' to take the exam.

I recommend reading Suzanne's 'Primer' sticky above to guide you through.

The requirements varies for each State BON. Some require CGFNS, some don't. It depends on the State BON.

Requirements for local boards also varies w/ the State BON. Before, as long as the nurse has never taken the local boards it can be waived as long as their is a letter of explanation but lately I have been hearing that some State BON are requiring it now. Better confirm this directly to your respective US State BON.

You can go to the website of the State BON or BRN where you plan to apply for US Nursing licensure and see their updated requirements for foreign-educated nurses. They also provide contact e-mail add. and tel #s for clarifications.

The diff. websites can be seen in the "Primer" Sticky. Everything you need to know are in there.

To make things simple, first thing you need to decide is what State would you want to live and work and then go from there. Go to the specific State BON/BRN website and download or request the application forms.

Like I said, each State BON would have their own requirements and you just have to follow it.

For States that needs CGFNS Certification (CG Exam plus English Exams and Transcript review), the local boards is a must.

I already passed my licensure application to Ca and i am waiting for the eligibility to come. It is now 3 months of waiting.
If i passes the NCLEX and work in Ca, what will be the requirements in working there..would they need me to take CGFNS to get a visa screening certificate?
Please advise me.
thanks!

The VSC can accept either CGFNS exam or NCLEX exam. Since you chose a State that does not require the CGFNS exam, you can just instruct CA BRN to send a a document to prove you passed the NCLEX-RN exam already.

There are a few threads here already discussing how this is actually done. Just wait until you passed the NCLEX. Good luck.

oh..i see..thanks..i feel relax now..
Once i pass the, exam does it mean i can now practice at Ca when having an employer and IELTS?
I have read in here that if the 3 years given to provide a SSN # has expired but beforehand is endorsed, does it mean i can still have my license taking into account that NJ does not require SSN #? if yes, what are the things to be done?

Even though you pass the exam and have an employer you are caught up with retrogression and currently looking at 5 years processing time once you have approval on I140 which takes approx 6-12 months depending on service center filed with. You can not endorse your Ca license as you do not really have a Ca license to endorse, you need to do licensure by exam and arrange for Ca to forward your results, this may mean CGFNS CES report doing when going to another state as you will still need to meet foreign trained nurse requirements
