How Long?

  1. Anyone who is emigrating to the USA or already has - can you tell me how long it was from start to finish did it take for you to get there? I am getting frustrated with all the waiting esp. as I am waiting for my ATT so I can get my NCLEX done!

    Thanks,

    Sue

Hi Sue. Hope you won't have to wait too much longer. I applied to join the agency in November 2001 and I should be doing my embassy interview in August and travelling in September, so that makes it one year and 10 months. I'm climbing the walls too and it feels like it's never ending.

    Hi Rockgirl,

Thats not bad going I suppose - one yr and 10 months. The Agency I am with reckoned it would be about 9-12 months - so I thought great!!!!!!! But now I know this was unrealistic! Still, the more you want something the longer it seems to get it!

Also reminds me of another (very old) joke I saw in a Laurel & Hardy film.

The phone rings and Stan picks it up and says, "It sure is!" and puts the phone down.
    Ollie says, "Who was it?"
Stan says, "Oh just some fool having a joke, saying 'it's a long distance from Atlanta, Georgia' and I said 'It sure is!'"

Get's me every time. Oldest are best.

Hello sue.working in the U.S of A.is a long process.i have been waiting since April last year.this i thought would be easy as i already have my visa screen, passed nclex just needed an interview, job and the all so important greencard or work permit, it is all proving too difficult(got the job waiting for immigration) .i was called by my agency yesterday only to be told ,there is a back log with immigration so i might be waiting for another 18 mnths,to which i am not happy with @ all.i have been told going out there after you've passed your exam only takes 3mnths. i am seriously giving it a thought or two. I went to canada to work for a year 2001-2002 .the process only took 4mnths at the most.So yes i am pulling my hair out ,when its all gone I'll climb walls

    Wow,

how depressing! I have had a letter from the CGFNS this morning and I thought - great this means I can go and do my NCLEX. Nooooooo!!!! It was to tell me that they wanted Pharmocolgy on my trancript now!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

It is such a long process isnt it that sometimes I feel like giving up - but I wont - not after the paperwork I have already have to do and no doubt there will be more!
