How difficult is it to immigrate to America for nursing?

My partner and I are nearly finished our nursing degrees, him doing Adult and me doing mental health nursing in the UK. We want to move out to America for nursing but aren't sure if we should go with an agency or not. He loves the idea of O'grady Peyton but I have read so many bad reviews on it. There's also the issue of me doing mental health nursing which doesn't exist in America, how would I transition to pyschiatric nursing and what is the timescale for the transition?

American nursing education is "generalist". We do not specialize until after we graduate and that specialization initially consists of getting a job in a particular area. We can go on to be certified in a specialty if we desire. You need to first make sure your education meets the standards of the board of nursing in the state you want to live. By standards I mean that you need to have theory and clinical in all areas of nursing (including peds and OB) not that your education is below ours.
