The foreign-educated nurses at work tell me this is quite a long process, so here are some links to help you get started:

http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/medical/nursing.htm
http://www.cgfns.org/ for foreign nursing graduates

Good luck and welcome!

You need to meet requirements for NJ as a foreign trained nurse and will be approx 4-6 months before you will be allowed to sit NCLEX ,pass and work as a RN. Looks like you also need a English exam if not already. Here is a link to the foreign trained nurse application

NJ requires the CES report which is credentials eval done by CGFNS and also the English exams be passed before they will give you permission to sit for the NCLEX exam.

Even with the green card, you still will need to meet the requirements for the foreign nurse. Immigration and licensure are two very different things.

Suggest that you also read the Primer at the top of this forum for more information and best of luck to you.
