Re: How to become RN in British Columbia?
you can do it without the help of the agency. Just email the external recruiters on which health authority you like to work. In my case, I found an employer without an agency. You just need a computer and the internet, and you can have it. It's quiet painful on your butt sitting all day reading and researching but it's worth it.
If you have the eligibility from a regulatory body and had sufficient experience, its not a hurdle to have an employer.
BTW, I was accepted by Interior Health.

Application forms for internationally educated nurses not registered in Canada, click this link below: http://www.crnbc.ca/downloads/FormIntl.pdf
In addition, to all Filipino nurses who took and passed the retake of Tests 3 and 5 of the June 2006 NLE, request a certified true copy from DOLE to send it to CRNBC. They asked me a copy of it. It caused me a 1 month delay before I received the letter of eligibility because I thought only US (CGFNS) requires it.
Good luck!

Re: How to become RN in British Columbia?
wow, looks like you will get there anytime soon. Any information on the processing duration for you to get to Canada? how much time will the eligibility for the CRNE be valid or does it even have an expiration date? thank you. With your posts, I actually became very much interested now, even without the agency I am planning to contact. However, as I browse the skilled worker site, I read that the experience they are only crediting are those that are with pay. Are trainings credited for that? Sorry, im just new with this thing and I know, i still need a lot of readings but any help will be very much appreciated. thanks

thanks, breech. does one need to be an employee of the hospital to go through the training? was it expensive? also, if you don't mind, can you please share a list of other hospitals you know offering ICU training, especially those closer to Manila or within Manila?

cyberfanatic,
once you've made eligible by CRNBC, you are given 2 years to comply the licensing requirements which includes taking the CRNE.
When it comes to experience, its up to the employer how much one you get before they will hire you. Some requires 2-3 yrs.
Good luck!

Php 3k for 6 months here in Davao Medical Center and also to special areas like, ER (5 mos), dialysis (5 mos), etc...
I'm sorry Lucy, I'm not familiar with hospitals in Manila that offers ICU training because I didn't live there. Since this is an international forum, it's appropriate to discuss things related to becoming RN in BC, Canada.
Good luck!
