I just had only 6 months experience, not as staff nurse but an ICU nurse trainee.

Here's the list of the Health authorities in BC where you can apply:

BC Health Authorities

Fraser Health (www.fraserhealth.ca)
Interior Health (www.roomtogrowbc.ca)
Northern Health (www.northernhealth.ca)
Provincial Health Services (www.phsa.ca)
Vancouver Coastal Health (www.vch.ca)
Vancouver Island Health (www.viha.ca)

Denominational Health Care Organization

Providence Health Care (www.providencehealthcare.com)

Wish you all the luck!

I did that already. They're requiring me to have my qualifications assessed by CRNBC. WEll, I'm on the process already. I have a lot of questions to ask you. I'm weighing things right now because I applied to 3 different countries. My US application commenced late December 2007. I would want to gain experience from other countries. I have a pending REgistration application for Canada and in Queensland Australia. I hold less than a year experience as a ward nurse (MED-Surg and ER) and an ongoing post graduate course in Psychiatric Nsg. I am employed close to 2 years as a TeleHealth Nurse for US patients. Please PM me. I have a lot of questions to ask. Thanks

hi kit25/092084,

i'm also planning to apply and be assessed by crnbc. did both of you finish 4 year BSN degrees? would you happen to know of anyone with a 2nd courser BSN who was approved by crnbc? i hold a 5-year undergraduate degree plus 2 years of BSN and i'm wondering if crnbc will find this sufficient, even if i didn't graduate from a 4 year BSN program.

thanks in advance and goodluck to both of your applications.

yes, I finished a 4-yr BSN degree and I'm not a 2nd courser. Im not sure if CRNBC will make you eligible if you have just a 2-yr BSN degree.

Good luck on your application!

I'm a shifter from a technical school (engineering-1yr) to nursing. However, I finished BSN for four (4) years. As long as you have the degree and the number of hours of clinical placement, there is nothing to worry about.
