HOTELS in HONGKONG?

Hi! Can anyone who has taken the NCLEX in HongKong recommend a decent hotel near the exam venue in HongKong?

I surfed around a site and saw pictures of the hotels, price range and their location, but I'd like to have firsthand information. Preferably a hotel with easy access to transportation (MTR).

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

Best thing to do is go to www.asiahotels.com and see what is available. You want Hong Kong Island for location, otherwise you also need to take the ferry from Kowloon side.

If you do a search back here a few months ago, there was a discussion on this same topic. (On the International Forum)

When are you planning to take the exam? Center in Taiwan is opening 1st of April, if that makes it easier for you. They are accepting reservations now.

Check out Suzanne's recommended website. It also has 1st hand reviews.

The test center is in Central district (HK island), so hotels there are expensive compared to other districts in HK island and from Kowloon island but there are a couple of 3 star hotels near the test center. Just check it out. You get more bang for your buck though if your hotel is outside the Central district (whether it's 3 star or 5 star hotel). The subway train (MTR) is efficent and is very near on most major hotels and you can take it even if you're on the Kowloon side island so it does'nt matter much if you're hotel is on the Kowloon side is., as long as it's in the tsim tsa tsui district. That is... if you can spare 10-15 travel time and another 3-5 min. walk from the Sheun Wan station ( nearest MTR station from the test center). MTR ride from Wan Chai distrcit station (nearest district to central distict in HK is.)to SHeun Wan Station is about 5-10 min. then add the walking time.

I also recommend to take the airport express train (if you're hotel will not ferry you from airport to their hotel) from the airport then get a taxi from the terminal, esp. if your hotel is just nearby the terminal. The travel time is just 15-20 mins compared to at least an hour by bus and it's cheaper too.
Some hotels too have a bus waiting in the HK is. airport express terminal to ferry you to their hotels (for free). Just google their website or Hk's airport to find out more. However, if your hotel is WAY out then just go bus all the way
from the airport since the money you saved in riding the airport express will just go to the taxi fare (maybe even higher)

Good luck.

why don't you try YWCA in HK. It is cheaper than hotel a lot. Otherwise, Shatin camp is ok.

Hi! Thanks for the post.:hatparty:

The venue is at Grand Millenium Plaza, Queen's Road Central in Sheung Wan.

Shatin might be a bit far?
