Helppp!!! I need some advice regarding my pending application

by leo_jr

Hi to everyone!!! I'm actually new hir. I'm having a problem with my pending application for licensure in Illinois. I passed the nclex-rn exam last June 2008 and a month after I got the official result, i sent the reply slip for the license. Since then (which is more than a year now) I havn't received my license and I continuously sending a letter of inquiry to the department (IDFPR) and unfortunately i dont have any clue whats going on with my application. I'm also worried because my toefl-ibt result expired last week. I'm from Philippines and currently working as a staff nurse in the med-surg area. can you give me some advice or any word of enlightenment? tnx in advance...

Have you tried to phone the BON and discuss this with them? Can you not see your name and license number on the BON website?

Where are you now and if in the US what status are you? If TOEFL expires next week and they haven't sorted you out you may have to take it again as they may require your English exam to be current

Do you have a ss#? Does Illinois require a person to have a ss# before they issue a license?

nope... i don't have a SS# since i'm from the philippines. You will only given a temporary SS# when you applyfor the exam but you must have a SS# once you renew your license.

Was your name ever on the Illinois BRN website? I don't think you're given a temporary ss# to apply for the NCLEX exam. You might be given a temporary number, but in place of it, but it's not a ss#. Find out if Illinois issues a license with out a ss#. If they don't you might have to transfer your results to a state that doesn't require a ss#. Good Luck
