Hi! Finally I have decided to apply for California-NCLEX. I have a query regarding the signature part. My classmates who have applied for Cali-NCLEX told me that signatures should not be the typical signatures we have (scribbles) but instead you have to do it with your complete name in cursive. How true is that? I told my classmate that in all my identification cards, my signatures are all scribbles, even in my passport. I might have problems in the future if I sign my name in cursive, when my passport shows in it scribbles. Help! What shall I do? How do I do my signature? As of now, I left the signature part blank. Need your replies asap. Thank you sooo much. -

Moving to the International forum. Please take the time to check out the International forum as we do not recommend California for initial licensure due to retrogression and they will not issue a license without SSN and your file will be deleted after 3 years and expect retrogression at the moment to take longer than 3 years. I am sure there are also threads in there or the Philippine forum regarding signatures

Title of thread changed to indicate licensure as not applying for NCLEX but licensure to be a RN in the USA

CA BRN not being recommended by some for initial licensure is all over the forums and narrowing down your choices simply means just choosing from a handful of States to make choosing from one another easier for you. After all, it is you who will choose in the end and not anyone else. That way you can choose their diff. pros and cons. All have pros and cons. There is no perfect State BON to choose from.

Everything here are all suggestions, opinions and shared experiences so that everyone can make an informed choice.

Some still choose CA BRN after reading it's pros and cons and still went through CA BRN, anyway. They find the 3 year to furnish the US SSN req't not at all a hassle, esp. after learning there is a chance that it can be renewed upon formal request for another year and every year, thereafter. Some don't like it that way. They want a State that gives a license for whatever reason it may be but fact is only proof of passing NCLEX is needed anyway and not the license per se. Whatever their decision is, it is their decision and an informed decision at that.
