Not easy at all.

What is your specialty and qualifications, and where in the USA are you seeking employment...because, I believe, H1Bs are reserved for specialty nurses, and only if the facilities prove that no qualified citizen can be found for the job?

Moved to the International forum as per the red banner

H1b is a specialist visa and you need a BSN or higher. You don't indicate what sort of training or experience you have but be aware with the job/economic situation in the US you will more than likely find it hard. This year is the first year in over a decade that I have seen there still visas left which is a good indication on how rough it has been in the US

looks like it will be too hard for me to get to US by H1BS . If i choose to full time study my master degree, does anyone know which nursing school do not require the GRE score.

my great thanks to you!

Hi lazzybee,

I found this thread regarding graduate programs that do not require the GRE.

http://allnurses.com/post-graduate-nursing/list-your-school-349356.html

I wish you the best of luck with your journey to the states, the economy is but Filipino/a nurses are quite prevalent here so it's certainly possible with will and research. Hope you love it here! May I suggest New York City? It's my obsession, and where I'm headed soon.

Just a reminder to you that if you are thinking about coming to the US for study purposes, you'll need a student visa. The student visa does not always guarantee employment. An OPT may be issued that will allow you to work in a field that is related to your course of study but the duration of employment is limited. Also be aware that one of the conditions of approval for a student visa is that you show evidence that you are able to fund the cost of tuition, materials, and living expenses for the entire duration of your course of study. Best of luck.

Yes definitely consider to going to school there! I've already graduated..so it will only be feasible for me to move there once I get a year of experience, (I hopefully start this January), then I'll at least be marginally marketable. I lurk on the ny forums all the time, http://allnurses.com/new-york-nurses/ so many apply everywhere, even the most undesirable ltc facilities, get turned down and are working as CNAs 2 years later while continuing to apply. Very discouraging..
