Yes you should investigate more about the retrogression online, at this time, there are no visa numbers available for greencard, a lot of people waiting on the list, hospital may file the paper work , but it is not certain you ll get it. Check the visa bulletin on the website www.state.gov go to visa , then visa bulletin, you ll see the available greencards issued by the state department.

I think you mentioned Schedule A visa, which is not available anymore.
