It will be months and months for you to get processed until you will be able to work. The non-immigrant visa does not permit you to work. You are looking at minimum of six months to even get thru the processing with immigration.

If you are married to an American already, why are you going to wait to start the processing? That makes no sense at all to wait until you are in the US. It is not going to change anything, when do you actually graduate?

Getting married, or the fact that you are married, does not guarantee you automatic green card in the US. Would definitely start the process now.

Start the licensure process with the BON to the state you are going to be living in as soon as your course is completed. It will take you several months going through their requirements and before you can sit NCLEX. If your spouse is US citizen have they started the process to bring you to the US? Because without them starting the process you can not just move to the US and be with them.

You just to be honest with what you are doing, when you provide conflicting information it makes it hard for anyone to give you a valid answer.

You are going to be petitioned by a spouse, so whether or not, you have the NCLEX completed and have a license is not part of that at all.

And again, you mentioned coming here on a tourist visa, and then starting the process. And as mentioned above, it is about five months or so before you will actually be able to begin to work. It is never instant, and there are many procedures that you will need to go thru to get to that point. And there is no guarantee 100% that you will be able to get the green card thru your husband. Nothing is ever guaranteed and is up to the officials at immigration.

Getting a visa that will permit you to work in the US is never an instant thing, marriage or no marriage. It is not automatically just given out. You will have multiple things that you will need to do, as well as proof that you will need to provide.

Dear Suzanne, Regarding green card, do all foreigners get a conditional permanent residence status? I recvd my greencard and it says conditional that has to be renewed in two years.
