Plan is to visit Aussie hospitals in 2 years Sydney-Brisbane.
Throw the chains off here in the US and buy a new surfboard

Any kind soul willing to steer me in the right direction?

Moved to the International forum as per the red banner requesting any questions regarding moving/immigration/registration as a foreign trained nurse be placed there leaving sub forum free for local nursing issues. Thanks for your understanding.

You will need to apply to the state that you want to work in Australia but will depend on type of training you have to whether it will be accepted. There are plenty of threads try the search facility with key words like Queensland and see what comes up

I would recommend checking with the state that you are interested in before doing a thing. Depending on the type of accelerated program that you completed, it may not be accepted there for licensure as well as immigration. One of their rules is based on the amount of time that was actually spent in the approved school of nursing and many of these accelerated programs are not accepted in other countries.

If I remember correctly, they also have an age limitation for the purposes of immigration, you may with to check with them on this as well.

Best of luck to you.

have a look at the QLD and NSW nursing websites...
www.qnc.qld.gov.au
www.nmb.nsw.gov.au

i know Aussie's have what's called an E3 treaty visa with the US, which allows aussie's (who have a university degree, working in a specialty occupation and have an employer) to head over to the US to work for 2yrs. i don't know for sure, but i would assume we would be doing something similar with North American's wanting to come here??? perhaps look up the Australian Embassy website in Washington, or wherevere it is there.

good luck.. sounds like a great plan!
