Foreign nurses from Africa

by manou

I want to start a thread for nurses trained in Africa and now working in the USA or seeking licensure here. I am one of them and I am going through the process for licensure in New york. I am waitng for the CGFNS/CVS for have my transcript brought from my country(Burkina Faso in West Africa).I hold an associate (2 years degree) with 4 years experience.

How was the starting in a US facility? I am worry about all these equipements. I knowI could learn faster if I happen to get approved and pass the NCLEX-RN; but how does it work? I know it will be an orientation tme but even so, I am still worried. Does anyone with a good experience?

I would appreciate any input from people from all other the world also.
Manou
