Flattering/Stylish Uniforms

Does anyone know where I can purchase stylish looking uniforms online? It seems as if all the nursing uniforms out there are boxy and very unflattering! Thank you!!!!

Specializes in ICU.

I vote for Avida...they are the best I have found yet :)

Yeah, we know, they picked the fugliest, most unflattering and impractical ones they could find. Right?

Absolutely...we could all be cleaners as far as the patients go!

Not that there is anything wrong with being a cleaner... my hubby did it for a while... but you know....

I worked in a nursing home on the Brisbane River while I was doing my training. They decided to change the uniform in August of one year, and they must have let the Ekka winds get to their heads when they picked 'em.

Dull green with grey trim for the blouses - buttoned to the neck with a little bow-tie thingy - and grey wool skirts. Pants weren't an option, and pantihose had to be worn. The best bit? No uniform allowance and they weren't supplied, so instead of our $35 polycotton dresses or embroidered polo shirts and pants, we had to buy $70 tops and $80 skirts which had to be dry-cleaned.

Anyone who's worked in Oz knows you can't get away with wearing a uniform day after day without needing a wash like they do in some cold climates (I've seen it done, no need to get antsy about hygiene aspects/infection control!). Brisbane. No air-con. 40-odd degrees by morning tea some days.

Luckily I left before they introduced it - refused to give me my holidays so I could go on my final prac, even though there was nobody else off.

I love the RFDS uniforms - navy long shorts or pants with belt, and smart chambray shirt with embroidery. Comfy, cool, practical and doesn't show the dirt when you fall off the wing of the bug-splatter coz you're a clumsy fool ;)

Uniform City has a website. I buy all of my scrubs thru them.

Stop looking........... THEY DON'T EXIST!

Avida is one of the better ones. Maple Shield in Toronto has good uniforms as well....

But as for the stylish...yet to find one. And being in ER and Recovery Room, I tend to just wear the good old green scrub pants with a tee...:roll

LacMac has a really good catalog..call 1-800461-0033..it is out of London Ontario, you can call 24/7, and I received the catalog within a week...they do have a website too, but the pictures are not very clear at all.....group/bulk discounts too, so get other people to order at the same time, and you can get like 30-40 % off....really good price range..

A great place I found, for many different brands is http://www.scrubsonline.com/ - They offer a directory of companies by both brand and styles. I've bought from a couple of companies there and been pleased.

I just got a catalog from Lydiasuniforms.com. They've got this whole "genX" series of uniforms that are pretty cool (for nursing uniforms). I just ordered some. US prices of course. https://www.uniformadvantage.com/
