Fired by St Joes

World International

Just heard from OGP that St Joe's cancelled my contract today, no reason but I guess that they are tired of waiting for me to return to work.

As you all know I had a Car accident in feb and am still recovering. OGP just phoned to let me know.

I wonder how much more I am going to have to undergo before my luck starts improving. Mind you I can now insist on day work and hopefully closer to where I live.;)

Had steroid injections into my back and thigh today, and it is starting to ache now.:o

Kay......someone is testing you!

Sorry to hear about the job, but I always say everything happens for a reason. You may be able to get work nearer home that you can manage now. Maybe something in a clinic or maybe even hospice work or something. And if you can do daily shifts, you can do as few or as many as you feel you can manage. Plus you get to have a look around at where is nice and where isn't! that will help when you finish your contract and are looking for a "proper" job of your own.

When I first got here the people in the local office of the agency didn't know they were supposed to be looking for a long term placement for me, so I did day shifts as that was all they were offering me and I needed to make some cash. I got to look at a lot of different places and I now know the places I don't want to work and the places that are too far from home to drive etc.

This may be the corner you had to turn to get back on track...

Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

K;)

OMG Kay! Whatever next? Are you getting any "support" from OGP? Or will you be free to look for work independently now? You must be gutted :o

I hope you'll be able to turn this horrible situation into something positive and find a job you'll be happy with. Hats off to you for the way you've handled this sorry state of affairs from the beginning, anyone else might have thrown in the towel by now :bowingpur

Sorry to hear of all your bad luck. How long until 18months contract ends so you can go about it independently?

Hope you feel better soon :balloons:

This HAS to be a good thing. If the place can NOT understand "healing"......do you really need them? :uhoh3:

Good luck!

OMG Kay,as others have already said...you are goinf through it alright...these things are meant to try us....I hope you get a job more suited to you....how is your pain doing?

I had a phonecall from my hospital yesterday saying that if I am off more than 2 weeks then it is breaching contract and they would have to terminate me....But they say if I am off they will put me on Per Diem Status to keep me on the books....so I hope they keep their word...

As I say these things are meant to try us - difficult when you are in pain...right?

(hugs)
