Filipino nurses with ADD

what about amnesia??? some pinoys suddenly "forget" tagalog after having settled in america for what...a few months? a few years? interesting.

i've experienced this once too many times.....i find it rude, really. as if saying "i beg your pardon" will suddenly make them polite. so to all kababayans planning to come over to the us---don't make this mistake. you'll only make a fool of yourself...

Are you reffering to me? 'Coz I really can't speak tagalog. I can understand it but I'm not fluent at it all.

I AGREE!!!! I hate it when they do that and I absolutely hate it when they try to "over-imitate" the accent. A lot of Filipinos have very good American accents but some over emphasize it that it actually becomes a little too annoying.

But lemme tell you what, if there are Americans around and another Filipino talks to me in Tagalog, I respond in English just because I think it's rude to speak in Tagalog if you're in the company of non-Tagalog speaking people. A good American friend actually told me this because another Pinoy co-worker keeps speaking in Tagalog despite subtle hints from American co-workers that it's somewhat impolite. And frankly, when two Hispanic co-workers start talking in Spanish when I'm in their company, I feel a little uncomfortable. I know their not talking about me but it simply makes me feel uneasy. I guess it would always be helpful to remember the Golden Rule: "Do not do unto others what you don't want others to do unto you"

But if you're in the company of fellow Filipnos, by all means speak Tagalog and don't pretend you no longer know how to! :wink2:

yea. korek!!! this is philippine nursing forum therefore it's okei to speak tagalog? hay naku...but can we really use tagalog here in PNF's?

i really want to ask u guys in tagalog but i notice that almost all of the users here are English speaking. im confuse whether the user is Filipino or somebody else..:roll

Probably they had bad experiences here in the Philippines that's why most of these Filipinos with "ADD" act/speak that way...Defense mechanism perhaps...Boils down to insecurity and inferiority..got the psych thing goin on,eh? Haha :) it's their life, let em do what they want...
