What Im saying is, to avoid the modules or course study there is an option to take the challenge test and avoid all the hassle of study.Right? Provided that you are confident with your nursing skills- But if you know of a better way ---please lead! thanks..

You can't always get a HANDOUT. So stop whining about it. If you are serious and not a tyre-kicker you will front with the money and take the tests.:urgycld:

Try to find the Guide to Choosing Your Pathway to Nursing Practice. Its better to undergo the Bridging Program and save time, effort and money rather than doing the Challenge Test.

Goodluck!

A lot of us (mostly second coursers) got denied by the Nursing Council to take the Competence Assessment Program. I'm telling you this so that if you're a second courser, better think 10x before applying. I'm not saying that all second coursers has 100% chance of getting denied. This is just based on the people I know who were approved and disapproved by the council. Anyway, once denied, they are going to refund NZ$65 from the NZ$465 application fee. They will also give you the chance to appeal you case, which means, there is still hope...

Thank you for verifying what I have been posting on the International forum. Perhaps some will believe what I have been saying now that you have gone thru the process.

Hi,
I'm new to te forum and really amazed at the Camaraderie on the site. Having had limited exposure to international nursing, I am simply looking at the percentage of acceptance vs. the cost of applying in New Zealand, and noted that Zew Zealand makes approximately 400 NZD for each application, I would submit that this is a very lucrative business for them!

I can only say, as an American living abroad (currently in Singapore but moving to the Philippines) that there are countries that appreciate Philipina Nurses. Such as Singapore (although the cost of living is very high here) But also in the US, my Mother always raves about the nurses from the Phlippines in her hospital. I can see I HAVE A LOT TO LEARN HERE. Thank you

I'm new here, im really considering to work in NZ as an RN my main concern is i want to know if its true that nurses earn only a minimum there..enough only for the daily expenses because of the high cost of living there..also can we recover the money we would invest for the schooling and the processing..i have heard that a lot of nurses are having a hard time paying for the loans they have for their schooling and etc..a reply from this would be greatly appreciated..you can also PM me
