exam for the UAE ?

hi,
can anybody give me an idea of the exam I have to do to get my work permission/ license permission in the UAE?
Are there special books where I can study for it? Is it realistic to learn and to pass?
They told me I have to do the exam there. What happen, if I pass (because my english is not good enough for the test?)?
