enlighten me

by mazeRN

dear ms suzanne,
i just joined this forum hours ago and i think you are the best person to consult re my concern. Will take the Vermont NCLEX next month and i would like to ask if its going to be easy or difficult for me to apply for endorsement in CA? I've made a great deal of preparation for this exam and hope to make it with God's help.If I will already have the visa screen can I be immediately petitioned by a CA employer or I will have to apply for endorsement first before being petitioned? About the application for endorsement, how long is the process? How about this SS# thing in CA, no SS# = no license. Can you enlighten me on this? Much thanks!
Others who can share their opinions, pls do. Thanks!

No social security number, no permanent license from CA. They will issue you a tempoary license, but again you must have the SSN# before you will be able to work.

Yuo can get petitioned based on the fact that you passed the NCLEX exam, no new foreign nurse wishing to work in CA has a license when they are petitioned. They will not get the license until they give them a SSN#.

Hi, may I ask about nclex exam, before I thought that the content of the nclex rn exam for all states is the same. Now, I am confused coz I heard from others that the exams for NY and Vermont are more difficult than other states. Is this true?

The NCLEX is the same whereever in the world you take it and whatever State that made you eligible to sit for it and there can never be exactly two exams as the next Q's are dependent on your previous answers because it is a Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) so don't even bother trying to get "tips" (and memorizing them) from local review centers and from previous examiners. It is very unlikely that the same Q's will pop up again and not to mention it is illegal to distribute copyrighted materials. Just a waste of time. You can find out more about the NCLEX by reading Suzanne's Primer and visiting the NCLEX discussion forum and the website of ncsbn.org.

Lawrence is 100% correct.
That one exam is harder is just another rumor circulating.
