ENdorsement from New MExico to Texas

by cher383

I just would like to inquire about endorsement process from NM to texas I've tried searching but I can't find answers to my queries..

I'm an RN from the Philippines and I recently passed the NClex, I've read also the endorsement guidelines by the tx BON but still have questions,
DO I need to submit a CES to the TX BON coz when I applied for NM they didn't require us it was just recently that NM BON requires CES..

PLz take time to respond to my inquiry.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You will need to meet the requirements for licensure in Texas and they require the CES. So you are going to need to secure that before they will even look at your application for licensure there.

Does not matter what you did for any other state, the issue is that you need to provide what Texas is asking for if you wish to work there.

Hi cher383,

It is one of their requirements to be an RN in Texas. You just need to go thru CGFNS and apply online and it will tell you the requirements they'll need. And also having a CES is also an advantage as it is now one of the major requirement and widely accepted assessment in majority of the states if you wish to change your mind and work in another state. Secondly when the time you'll need to apply for your VSC you don't need to do it over again as CGFNS has already your file. Hope this helps.

I'm not sure about this one(if through endorsement), but I heard that TX requires US SSN before they issue the actual license(if through examination), just like in CA.

As long as you have a number issued, you can submit for endorsement. But as John mentioned, they will not issue a license until you have a SSN#.
