Eligibility- is it good only for 6 months?

Updated Sep 26, 2006 at 02:36 AM by Chubachuchu

Hello everyone, I'm new here. I would like to ask for your help regarding eligibility. I have applied for California Nursing licensure and processing takes 4 to 6 months. A friend told me that upon receipt of my eligibility from the BON, I have 1 year to register with Pearson Vue for Nclex exam.Another friend of mine said that it is good for 6 months only..I want to plan my nclex review, I hope you can shed some light on this matter.THanks!

Eligility to sit for the NCLEX is good for two years but once you register at Pearson vue to sit for the NCLEX, your registration is good for only one year that means you have to schedule and take the exam with in the year.

Actually, the eligibility for CA is good for 2 years (before registering to pearson-vue) but once you register to pearson-vue you have 1 year to schedule your appointment before pearson-vue's registration expires. Hope this helps.

I'm guessing that those friends of yours did not actually apply for CA but got their information from somebody else because it was clearly indicated in the eligibility letter (2 years to register to pearson-vue) and in the handbook of pearson-vue (1 year expiration upon registration).

Hi Rep and Lawrence! Thank you for the info! You guys have helped me a lot! It is indeed a big help because I can now plan what to do first.I am planning to take IELTS while waiting for my eligibility and I'm still in the process of looking for a good IELTS review center here in Manila. Some say that Gapuz Ielts review is okay.Aside from Gapuz, do you know other review centers that offers IELTS?

I really would recommend the official IELTS worskhop conducted by IDP and the British Council. You may consider this. It's a 1 day workshop conducted by one of the Australian/British examiners. It's worth the price. You can inquire and apply for it when you visit the British Council or the IDP Education Australia office. From there you will know if you need extra help or not.

Goodluck.

for ielts? try attending the seminar being conducted by the IDP... that is if you really want to be aware of how the exam is being done... otherwise, it is just a waste of money and resources...
